Do you want to begin 2020 with restoration, adventure and a new perspective?

Join us at Orama Oasis as we host Canadian-born author and patristic scholar Brad Jersak to grapple with the character of God, our current climate of faith and peer behind the veil of our preconceptions.

Spend three days engaging with other like-minded Christians who are also asking the tough questions whilst enjoying the unparalleled beauty of our island paradise.

You will have plenty of time to enjoy the serenity of our natural environment through hiking, paddle boarding, boat trips and more. Sessions will be set within our vibrant Christian community anchored in the disposition of love and Christian authenticity.

If you are wanting to grapple with the tough questions, seek the face of our loving God and know the revelation that he is calling you to, this is the conference for you.

Prices start at NZ$740 (incl GST) per person depending on your choice of accommodation all-inclusive of travel, transfer, activities and food. Please see more details on the booking page.

Brad and Eden Jersak were previously pastors and church-planters and are now authors and teachers based in Abbotsford on the West Coast of Canada. They have three adult sons, two daughters-in-law and a granddaughter.

Brad serves as a reader and monastery preacher at All Saints of North America Orthodox Monastery. He also occasionally teaches at The Bridge in Abbotsford. Through his books and seminars, Brad shares the good news that God is Love, perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ. He teaches others how to encounter God through the practice of ”listening prayer,” through which God’s love heals wounded hearts and empowers us to heal this broken world. Brad's most recent book is A More Christlike God a deeply moving look at the character and nature of God.

Eden was on the leadership team that planted Fresh Wind in 1998 and served as team leader from 2008-2013. Her book, Rivers from Eden, leads readers into 40 days of intimate conversation with God. After stepping down at Fresh Wind, Eden re-entered the financial world for several years. She now runs Fresh Wind Press and continues, as invited, as a gifted teacher and retreat facilitator.

Take the opportunity to explore

Hike HirakImata / Windy Canyon

Walk together and discover the beautiful North Barrier landscape. We will pass beautiful Whangapoua Beach as we make our way up to Windy Canyon. We will then hike up the short walk to take in panoramic views of the forest and beaches of Great Barrier beneath us. You can then choose to continue on to Hirakimata (Mount Hobson), Great Barrier’s highest point, or make your way down to Whangapoua estuary to see take in the grandeur of the beach-line there.

Onewhero Beach

Hike straight out of Orama through farmland and regenerating bush to a 360 degree lookout with views of Katherine Bay, Port Abercrombie and Little Barrier Island. Continue on to the unspoilt Onewhero Bay with it’s 1000 year old pohutukawa trees and gentle lapping waters. Share a picnic with other families and play beach games.

Bird Sanctuary

Explore the amazing Glenfern Sanctuary and see birdlife that many people go their whole lives without seeing. Take a stroll to sunset rock or walk among undisturbed Kauri forest. Get a magnificent view on the bay as you walk the ridge line.
