Great Barrier Island provides a wonderland to explore right on your doorstep. From Orama it is a short drive to magnificent beaches, awesome lookouts, bush walks of varying degrees from easy to the more challenging. There is great fishing nearby and historic sites of special interest.
Kayaks and small yachts are available for hire from Outdoor Pursuits Centre at Orama. They can also make available instuctors for abseiling, overnight camping in the bush, Sea kayaking in the surf and many other great activities that can be enjoyed by individuals, families, school and corporate groups.
