Important Strands of Our Heritage

The Practice of Christian Hospitality:

The ability and willingness to welcome all comers, the poor and the not so poor. The homeless, the unemployed, those troubled in mind or spirit, the marginalized as well as our Island neighbours and friends, drop in boaties, the successful and strong, Ministers needing time out for retreat etc.

The Promotion and Demonstration of Unity:

To promote unity by respecting, honouring and affirming the callings and giftings of others in Christ's Body from different Traditions.

The Enabling and Empowering of People:

To respond to Christ's call to begin a new life in right relationship with God, themselves, others and creation in order to discover, develop and use their God given gifts and potential.

A Non-Sectarian Balanced Vision of Life and Faith:

Drawing inspiration from the Great Biblical and historic streams of Christian Spirituality. (i.e. the Contemplative, Holiness, Charismatic, Social Justice, Evangelical and Incarnational streams.)

An Holistic Lifestyle:

In which we seek to integrate both the sacred and secular seamlessly into all aspects of our everyday living.

A Prophetic Community:

In which the message towards which the Holy Spirit is calling the church is made incarnate and tangible:

  • A community of love and acceptance of nurture and accountability.

  • A demonstration of an alternative way of living that endeavours to model Body Life' as it is meant to be lived, according to the gospel. (Maybe this is an impossible ideal but it could be a vision worth striving for!)
