Facilities
Cooking / Kitchen Facilities:
Orama has a large commercial kitchen, from which we cater for school groups & family camps, corporate retreats and other groups. In addition to having our fully self-contained houses & apartments, we also offer several guest kitchens that can be used by campers, backpackers & those staying in the cabins and guest rooms. Laundry:
A fully functional laundry is available to use during certain times of the day. We have one large commercial washing machine as well as 4 smaller machines, all coin-operated. A coin-operated dryer is also available.
Wharf / Pontoon:
We have a good sized wharf and pontoon which can cater for all sized vessels including the OPC's Lady Hillary launch & the Fuller's JetRaider which can be chartered for groups. A great spot for Dad to take the wee ones fishing and it's a favourite with the kids as a diving platform!
Lounge / Lecture Room:
Orama offers a large lounge full of comfortable couches, a large fireplace and all overlooking the Orama front lawn and the view of Karaka Bay beyond. The lecture room has 24 hour power and is available for hire with prior arrangement.
Library:
We have a small library, where you are welcome to sit and read on the couches. We have a small selection of Bibles and Christian books to use.
Recreation Hall:
A large Recreation Hall is available to use for Volley Ball, Badminton, Basket Ball etc. or just a space to left off some steam. At times is also used for concerts & lectures which can hold up to 250 seats.
Swimming Pool / Sandpit Area:
During the summer months, we offer a small filtered pool and sand area (fully fenced) for children six years and under to enjoy. Parents are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children. We also have a fully fenced sandpit area and wendy house for the little ones to enjoy.
OPC - Sir Edmund Hillary's Outdoor Pursuits Centre:
Here at Orama, OPC live and work as a part as of our community, offering a wide range of outdoor pursuits including everything from kayak hiring, abseiling, surfing etc.
