Orama Oasis has the greatest range of accommodation on Great Barrier Island

Whether you are travelling alone or want to organise a group holiday, we have a variety of accommodation options for you to choose from. We can offer you tastefully decorated self-contained units with magnificent views of the bay and sunsets to die for, or if you just want a bed to crash in after a strenuous day of hiking, we have simpler options of cabins or bunks. We can accommodate and cater meals for you or a group of up to 120 guests.

Our property features a tranquil beach, expansive grounds, a safe pre-school play area, huge dining hall (for up to 120 guests) with sea views, commercial kitchen/catering options, well equipped conference rooms with a data projector, a seated auditorium, recreation hall, laundry, general store, public phone and library.

Communal camp kitchen: Our camp kitchen, called Rose Cottage, is available for visitors who want to self-cater. It is fully equipped, so all you need to bring is your food. There is also a guest kitchen in our main lodge.

Items to bring: Bring a torch – our power generating hours stop at around 10.30pm so a good reliable torch with spare batteries is essential. Bring a hot water bottle in the winter to warm your bed.

What not to bring: Please don’t bring candles as the fire risk from these is too great in our remote island paradise. Sorry, no pets allowed.
